达沃斯—如果古希腊哲学家柏拉图在当代对话中分享他第一个提出、仍在困扰我出的问题会怎样?在我看来,他会有许多新问题——包括我们在哲学讨论中日益增加的心理方法。

柏拉图可能会来到引领全球的技术枢纽:谷歌公司加利福尼亚州总部。在那里,他可能会与软件工程师讨论诸如道德问题是否能通过众包解决之类的话题。他可能会喜欢信息云这个想法——如此抽象,如此柏拉图风格——并发现谷歌是了解过去几个千年中层出不穷的科学和技术进步的理想工具。

但柏拉图也许会振奋于世界的道德进步。毕竟,他认为,做一个“哲学家”意味着承担起到的改革家的责任。但是,尽管道德永远占据着他的思想的核心地位,许多被我们视为理所当然的到的真理他从未遇到过。
