经过多年的争论和布什政府反对采取任何行动的态度影响,美国终于开始对全球气候变化的现实有所醒悟。但这一过程中的主导作用并非来自总统,而是来自私有部门的行动。

美国主要公司的领导人们都认为全球人为的气候变化是不争的事实,必须加以控制,而商界在这一过程中必须发挥建设性的作用。因此,即便是布什政府和一些与科学证明背道而驰的人仍在粉饰太平,美国的公司领导人们还是在寻求着切实的解决方案。
