保护女性健康在经济上势在必行

曼谷——梅和她的男友初次性爱时只有17岁。因为梅所在国家规定未婚青少年未经父母允许无法获得避孕服务,所以他们决定不采取避孕措施。不久后,梅怀孕了。

作为一名少女妈妈,梅可以从所在国的公共医疗系统获得产前、分娩及产后护理服务。但该系统不提供避孕,而且因为没有全职工作,梅无法自费购买服务。因此尽管希望避免或延迟可能的再次怀孕,梅也别无选择,只能不使用任何避孕服务。

因为获得全面性及生殖健康服务的机会仍然很不均衡,像梅这样的故事在亚太地区太过常见了。尽管某些国家在实现全民医疗覆盖这一联合国可持续发展目标(SDGs)规定的重点领域取得了重大进展,但却遗漏了女性健康的一个关键组成要素。直到包括计划生育在内的性及生殖医学服务能够全面普及并完全纳入医疗资助计划,否则向一切有需要的人提供医疗服务的工作仍然是不完整的。
