汉森认为“人们所要采取的第一步行动就是利用民主程序。但最困扰所有人,包括他本人的,则是民主行动虽然影响了选举,但从政治领导人那得到的却只不过是假惺惺的表态。”尽管汉森没有告诉我们第二步或者第三步行动是什么,但他最近却出现在一个英国法庭上为6个破坏火电厂的环保分子出庭辩护,并宣称需要“更多人把自己捆绑在火电厂(来阻止其正常运行),”而这个观点也是戈尔所反复强调的。
