微笑不设限

如果你昂首挺胸地走在你家附件的街道上,脸上露出坦诚的表情,有多少经过你身边的人会朝你微笑,或者以某种方式跟你打招呼呢?

微笑是一种通用的人类行为,尽管是否应该随时对陌生人报以微笑不同的文明对此会有各种不同的看法。在澳大利亚,对陌生人表示欢迎和友好并非不寻常。但是位于墨尔本港湾郊区的菲利普港却一直在用志愿者去观察人们隔多久会对街上路过的人微笑。然后它在街上挂上了类似限速的标志,告诉行人他们现在身处于比如说“每小时10次微笑区”。

这是毫无意义的吗?是在浪费纳税人的钱财吗?伯利托市长说挂标志是尝试鼓励人们行走在街上时既对邻居也对陌生人微笑或者说“G’day” ,这是标准的澳大利亚问候语(道“日安”)。
