La Chine, société de consommation en devenir

HONG KONG – La transition économique de la Chine d'un modèle basé sur les exportations à un autre basé sur la consommation intérieure et les services est en cours. C'est une bonne chose pour la Chine et pour l'économie mondiale.

L'édition 2016-17 du Blue Book of China’s Commercial Sector  publié par Fung Business Intelligence et l'Académie chinoise des sciences sociales dresse un état de l'économie chinoise et de ses perspectives. Les marchés de détail chinois ont brassé 30 000 milliards de yuans (4600 milliards de dollars) l'année dernière, après plus d'une décennie de croissance à deux chiffres. Malgré la baisse des investissements, la consommation des ménages a commencé à grimper - elle dépasse aujourd'hui 60% du PIB. Bien que le taux de croissance annuel ne soit plus que de 10,7%, le marché intérieur pourrait atteindre 50 000 milliards de yuans en 2020 selon le Blue Book.

Cette transformation tient en grande partie à Internet. S'ajoutant aux investissements importants dans les infrastructures publiques (ports, aéroports, réseau routier et ferroviaire et télécommunications; etc.), Internet accroît rapidement l'éventail de choix des consommateurs chinois, suscite une baisse des coûts et accélère les livraisons.
