Как будут учиться будущие ученые?

Недавно меня пригласили выступить на двух собраниях, посвященных вопросам науки, в разных местах Европы. В первом случае это было официальное открытие сети научных центров в Вене, объединяющее децентрализованную научную деятельность в интерактивную выставку, совершающую тур по Австрии. Во втором - Фестиваль Наук в Генуе (Италия), молодое и очень успешное мероприятие с большим количеством выставок и известными гостями, выступающими по всему древнему городу.

Что поразило меня в обоих случаях – это настойчивые и по-видимому успешные попытки завладеть вниманием двух целевых групп, от которых будет зависеть будущее науки и техники. Первой группой являются подростки, глубоко заинтересованные во всех новых технологиях и устройствах, окружающих их. Но хотя эти технологии стали неотъемлемой частью их жизни, их связь с наукой остается отдаленной. Другая целевая группа состоит из детей более юного возраста, чья открытость и врожденное любопытство еще не были подавлены формальным образованием.

Успех новообразованных научных центров и фестивалей в Европе в установлении контакта с потенциальной аудиторией отражает изобретение нового метода обучения и приобретения знаний. Они преуспели в создании по большей части неформальной среды обучения, где основное внимание сосредоточено на по-настоящему интерактивном обучении. Поощряя детей задавать вопросы, которым практически нет места в формальной системе образования, им предоставляют возможность участвовать в процессе исследования, который часто начинается именно с постановки правильного вопроса.
