Les limites du bonapartisme

PARIS – Après quatre décennies, la France vient de retrouver sa place au sein du commandement militaire intégré de l’OTAN. D’un seul geste, le président Nicolas Sarkozy a renversé l’un des piliers de la politique française – et par là l’un des piliers de l’héritage de Charles De Gaulle, le fondateur du parti politique auquel appartient Sarkozy.

La décision prise par le président français s’inscrit dans le droit-fil de la manière dont il gouverne depuis son élection en 2007. Qu’il s’agisse de la réforme du système juridique, de la réforme de la carte administrative, de la proposition d’une nouvelle alliance des pays de la Méditerranée, ou de la volonté apparente de mettre fin à la politique ambiguë d’alignement et en même temps de non-alignement avec les Etats-Unis, Sarkozy fait preuve d’une ambition indiscutable.

Le problème tient au fait qu’un nombre trop important de décisions prises par le président français se sont révélées être purement symboliques, comme le projet calamiteux d’Union méditerranéenne ; ou comme la réforme de la carte judiciaire, mal conçue et à laquelle s’oppose la quasi totalité de la profession judiciaire et légale ; ou servant ouvertement ses intérêts,  comme la réforme administrative qui prévoit comme par hasard d’abolir uniquement les administrations régionales et les départements contrôlés par l’opposition socialiste.
