民粹主义的真正根源

蒙得维的亚——失控的全球化已经摧毁了就业、导致中产阶级收入停滞不前和收入不平等进一步深化。愤怒的选民因此正转而求助民粹主义政客。如果不从根本上抛弃自由经济政策,民粹主义潮流将是不可阻挡的。

这种简单的说法越来越受人们欢迎。但其实这样的理解完全错误。

恰恰因为民粹主义——无论是(以委内瑞拉的查韦斯和西班牙的“我们可以”党为代表的)左翼势力还是(以美国的唐纳德·特朗普和法国国民阵线为代表的)右翼势力——丑陋不堪、来势汹汹和破坏力极强,民粹主义势力日益壮大需要人们作出细致入微的解释。对原因把握不准会导致拙劣的解决方案出台——到那时民粹主义真有可能成为不可阻挡的潮流。
