伊朗下一任总统,德黑兰的强硬派市长艾哈迈迪内贾德,很可能使该国和西方的关系及目前的国际孤立状态进一步恶化。然而就伊朗国内而言,相对于一个更为温和的结果,这一结果可能对该伊斯兰政权更加有利。

该政权的这一手无疑是高明的。它将更功利主义一些,且在一些现行政策方面持不同意见的拉夫桑贾尼描画称“当权派”人物,并将自己的人选变成了反叛者。于是政府就可以利用反当权派的情绪来重振其统治。鉴于前任总统哈塔米是改革运动的支持者—虽然怯懦使他终究一事无成—这就更加突出说明了统治者们是如何彻底地操控了政治局势。
