China está a punto de adoptar su undécimo plan quinquenal, fijando el escenario para la continuación de probablemente la más notable transformación económica de la historia, mientras mejora la situación material de casi un cuarto de la población mundial. Nunca antes el mundo había visto un crecimiento así de sostenido; nunca antes ha habido un nivel tal de reducción de la pobreza.
