大多数西方记者在收集信息的能力遭到政府的威胁时会进行抵抗和反击。有些记者为了保护匿名信息提供者和爆料者的身份而坐牢,有些记者起诉政府拒绝他们接触关键材料。唉,他们为保护自己采集新闻的权利而战的意愿似乎远远超过为保护他们自由出版和广播报道结果的权利而战的意愿。事实上,西方记者和新闻机构好像认为在一个例行控制传媒的国家中审查制度不可避免。
