从传染病谈开去

纽约——世界卫生组织现已正式宣布将H1N1流感病毒列为全球流行病毒。世界各国政府、国际组织和民众正在与病毒进行斗争。

H1N1病毒以如此快的速度传播到几乎所有大洲凸显出人类的相互依存程度。今天,疾病对一个国家的影响最终会波及到所有国家。因此,应对传染病的有效对策必须以全球团结和文明对待自身利益为基础。

我们必须意识到人类的命运是休戚相关的。当一种新疾病席卷全球的时候,疫苗和抗病毒药物的使用不能只局限在有钱人当中。如果贫穷国家不健康,富裕国家也很难独善其身。我们必须公开迅速地共享病毒样本和相关信息。政府和大型制药企业必须确保贫困国家也能得到所需的医疗物资。
