伦敦——三十年前的本月,玛格丽特·撒切尔开始执掌政权,虽然受制于英国本国条件,撒切尔式的革命还是立即成为了一个国际标签。这套理论的核心思想是以自由市场来代替政府的干预。三十年后的今天,世界正处于经济萧条之中,一些人把此次全球危机的原因归咎于以上的理论。

实际上,即便不是左派人士也会认为,英美模式的资本主义已经失败了。此种模式应该对几乎导致金融体系全面崩盘负责。经过三十年的反思,我们应该判断撒切尔式革命中的哪些因素应该保留,而哪些因素应该被调整修改,以便于将来经济的复苏。

大多数人认为,相对于政府的过度干预而言,对市场监管的越少就越有利于市场的稳定和活力。按照亲撒切尔主义者的说法,政府所犯的错误所造成的影响要远超过市场失效所导致的后果。
