超导百年

发自芝加哥——世界首台“量子”计算机——一台利用量子现象的魔力来构成记忆体且任务执行速度远远高于当前使用的硅芯片的机器——最近由加拿大的D-Wave系统公司出售给洛克希德-马丁公司。与此同时,当人们开始质疑这台量子计算机的真伪时,其设计者在权威专业杂志上发表文章,阐述了构成这台崭新计算机的基本元素其实就是超导的量子位。

此举也成为了超导现象100周年纪念的标志性事件。所谓超导,就是物质携带电流却不造成损失的能力。超导线中的电流可以存在数年都不出现可测量的衰减。

这种特性使得超导体拥有了可供多方面利用的独有特征。它们可以携带巨量电流,非常适用于城市电网,而被卷成线圈时又能制造出极其强大的磁场。
