欧洲世纪性交易的失败

布鲁塞尔——随着欧洲在本应缔造出令世人震惊的全新航空航天及国防巨头的巨型合并所遗留的废墟上挑挑拣拣,人们不禁要问欧盟在这场惨败中究竟扮演了哪些不光彩的角色。欧盟委员会未能支持空客所有者法德欧洲航空防务及航天公司(EADS)及英国BAE系统公司案值500亿美元的合并,这被外界普遍视为此次交易失败的关键因素。

这两家航空和航空电子技术领导企业的合并曾视作为欧盟工业腾飞的创意蓝图。若干年来,欧盟领导人一直敦促整合欧洲国防工业,于是此次由EADS和BAE系统公司董事会提出的合并议案就像在响应他们的号召。但欧盟委员会和欧洲议会却不约而同地选择保持沉默,没有提供确保此次交易顺利达成所需的政治支持。
