哪里才是土耳其的西方?

随着2003年3月土耳其议会对美国军队开辟伊战北线的计划投下反对票,土耳其与美国之间传统的战略伙伴关系终于走到了尽头。尽管土美之间还有不少共同利益,可如今他们管理这些利益的基础却已经大不相同了。

投票结果震惊了"老欧洲"和阿拉伯世界,也震惊了布什政府。这个结果让那些曾把土耳其当成美国可能安插到欧盟内部的一匹特洛伊木马的欧洲人也不得不对土耳其刮目相看。而对阿拉伯人来讲,这一结果表明尽管土以关系十分密切,但土耳其毕竟不是美国的马屁精,也不会配合美国的霸权企图。

随着居住在伊拉克北部的库尔德人成为五角大楼对伊战争的主要盟友,潜藏已久的土美分歧终于爆发了。美国政府明确表示:美国绝不容许土耳其对伊北部实行军事干预。
