在整个亚洲地区,有很大一部分工人觉得他们的教育程度相对自己的工作过高或者过低,而雇主常常感叹缺乏合格的毕业生。万宝盛华集团(Manpower Group)的调查显示,2015年有48%的用人单位难以找到合适的人选填补在亚洲的职位空缺,而该比率在2006年仅为28%。与此同时却有许多大学毕业生——包括高达45%的韩国毕业生——在努力四处求职。
