Ten years of European Security and Defence Policy
2009 is a landmark year for the EU’s role in the world, for it marks ten years of the European Security and Defense Policy, during which the EU became a global provider of security, making a real difference in the lives of people all over the world. Moreover, the EU is on the threshold of a new era as the Lisbon Treaty enters into force and provides fresh impetus for external action.
