柏林—对此前被称为“阿拉伯之春”的最后幻想可能也已经消失了。埃及政变毫无疑问将使该国走上简单粗暴的镇压之路。问题不再是民主和独裁之争,而是(伊斯兰)革命和(军队)反革命之争——独裁与独裁之争。

不仅埃及是如此,整个中东几乎都是如此。而由于双方都选择了武装斗争之路,结果将是内战,不管心怀好意的欧盟外交部长们将在布鲁塞尔做出什么决定。伊斯兰教无法在军事上取胜,一如将军们无法再政治上取胜,这将确保独裁、严重暴力和一系列人道主义灾难卷土重来。

对双方来说,完全的控制和掌握是唯一的选择,尽管双方都对如何现代化经济和社会没有哪怕是最基本的见解。因此,不管哪一方占据上风,独裁主义和经济停滞将再次盛行。
