华沙——炎热的一天，紧张的时刻。在波兰后共产主义时代的首任总理塔德乌什·马佐维耶茨基奠定政府开拓性计划时，他摇晃着似乎要晕倒在地。就在人头攒动的国会紧张地猜测总理的健康状况时，马佐维耶茨基已经溜出侧门，到靠近华沙市中心的瓦津基公园呼吸新鲜空气。
“那是谁呀？”一个在沙箱中玩耍的孩子问他的妈妈。“那是总理”，她回答说——“我们的总理”。之前四十年很少有人用这样的词来形容波兰的共产党领导人。
马佐维耶茨基返回讲台时以惯有的假正经般的诙谐向大家道歉，说波兰经济就像他的双脚一样不稳固。他说得没错。
