Terrorismo e fiducia

LONDRA – Mentre il mondo fa i conti con le implicazioni e le conseguenze degli atroci atti terroristici commessi a Parigi, un’importante questione rischia di perdersi nel fiume di reportage e analisi che ne è scaturito: il ruolo sempre più cruciale delle aziende private nella preparazione e risposta alle emergenze, che è molto più ampio e articolato di quello che sembra.

Nel momento in cui l’ondata di attentati simultanei travolgeva la capitale francese, persone in tutto il mondo hanno seguito gli avvenimenti in tempo reale via Twitter, e i parigini si sono messi in comunicazione con le persone coinvolte negli incidenti postando offerte di rifugi sicuri con gli hashtag  #PorteOuverte#OpenDoor. Chi voleva assicurarsi che familiari e amici stessero bene, ha potuto utilizzare la nuova funzionare di Facebook Safety Check. Inoltre, Google ha annunciato che le chiamate verso la Francia tramite Hangouts erano diventate gratuite. 

I governi di tutto il mondo si sono messi in contatto con i propri concittadini tramite i social media: l’ambasciata britannica in Francia ha diffuso informazioni via Twitter per chi era in viaggio, mentre quella statunitense inviava aggiornamenti via Facebook.
