几十年的停滞之后,日本的经济似乎正在回暖。但表象是有欺骗性的。尽管改革使很多领域有所改善,但日本的不少基础领域依然前景堪忧。

日本的经济衰退是显而易见的。20世纪80年代后期,日本政治圈流行着一种说法:即美国治下的和平已经结束,取而代之的是亚洲地区的日本和平。美国的经济动荡不定,而日本的经济却一路上扬,甚至有预测认为,2005年日本的经济就会彻底超越美国。如今迥然不同的结果恰恰反应了日本人思维的强大惯性。

导致日本衰退的问题是多方面的。对所谓"建设性破坏"的理念,日本的决策者和企业都不甚了了,有太多的工业恐龙靠救济存活。因此,尽管有些公司效益非常不错,像丰田和佳能,但却几乎没有给新兴企业和创业者留下太多空间。如果把日本经济比作一台电脑,那么它的硬盘里就装满了废弃不用的程序,而"删除"键就是不起作用。
