PARIS – Le Mali est un superbe pays d'Afrique occidentale de 1 240 000 km², désertique pour les ¾ , avec une population approchant de 14 millions d'habitants.
Au XIVe siècle ce puissant royaume incluait le Sénégal, le Ghana et une partie du Niger. Puis il fut vaincu et divisé, devint colonie française au XIXe siècle, et obtint sa complète indépendance en 1960.
