但西方城市街道随处可见的年轻尼日利亚妓女几乎没有引发任何反响。事实上,多数人只是将眼光转向别处。媒体对此问题也几乎完全保持沉默。

每年都有成千上万的尼日利亚少女被狂热份子和雇佣兵暴徒抓住并强迫在看似大度地向尼日利亚政府提供援助的西方富裕国家卖淫。拐卖到西方的每10个人中就有6个尼日利亚人,意大利和比利时至少60%遭拐卖的性服务提供者都是尼日利亚女孩。欧洲、北美、俄罗斯和中东目光所及之处随处可见这些年轻女性——这种状况已经持续了几十年。
