幸福、金钱以及散财

如果你有更多钱的话你是不是会更加幸福呢?许多人认为是的。但是多年来的研究显示,更多财富意味着更多幸福的现象只存在于极低收入水平的人群中。比如,美国人从总体上来看要比新西兰人富裕,但是他们并不更加幸福。更加戏剧性的是,奥地利、法国、日本和德国的人民似乎并不比那些要贫穷得多的国家,比如巴西、哥伦比亚和菲律宾的人更幸福。

要在不同文化的国家之间进行对比会比较困难,但是同样的结果也出现在一个国家的内部,除开那些极低收入水平的人,比如在美国年收入低于12000美元的人。比这收入高的,收入的增加对于人们的幸福并没有多大区别。美国人比起50年代的时候要富裕多了,但是他们并没有更加幸福。今天美国的中产阶级,就是说家庭年收入在5万到9万美元之间,其幸福水平几乎与那些富有的美国人,即家庭年收入高于9万美元的一模一样。

许多关于幸福的调查只是问人们对他们的生活的满意程度。我们对于这种研究不能抱以太大的信任,因为这种整体“生活满意度”的评价也许不能反映人们到底在多大程度上真正对他们生活的方式感到满意。
