美元依旧为王

发自伊萨卡——每周都有关于中国货币(人民币)占据优势地位的消息接踵而来。但要说到能对抗——更别说替代——美元的国际储备货币统治地位,中国还有很长一段路要走。

无可否认,在国际贸易和金融方面中国已经在扮演着重要角色,连伦敦和法兰克福这样的金融中心都在热切等待着启动人民币业务。最近关于中国经济规模可能很快会比肩美国的论断也令该意愿进一步高涨,导致许多人相信——不管是悲凄地还是欣喜地——人民币很快会一统天下了。

此外,中国政府也启动了一系列改革,旨在开放经济并令其更加以市场为导向,同时也宣布了一系列计划来放松利率和汇率,并持续放宽对跨境资本流动的限制。所有这一切都将强化人民币获取储备货币地位的雄心。
