Hans Küng, the philosopher/priest who was silenced by conservative popes following his role in shaping the Second Vatican Council’s liberal reforms, has died at the age of 93. Father Küng’s The Globalization of Ethics, which identified the common beliefs among all religions, remains resonant today, now that globalization – and the tolerance it requires – is under attack.
