How can anyone be expected to take this 'news' seriously when the same thing is happening in Israel-occupied Palestine, with even more violence? The hypocrisy of the so-called 'neutral' West, who gleefully and unapologetically colonised and pillaged half the world throughout history, is astonishing and at the same time, diabolical. The act of pretending to care for the fate of Uyghurs is done at the expense of other atrocities they have chosen to conveniently ignore. This is nothing more than thinly disguised anti-China propaganda, yet these former colonizers think people are too stupid not to see it.

The UK Parliament's resolution was an Early Day Motion and does not appear in the official House of Commons record. The vote occurred on 22 Apr 2021 and note the last HoC vote listed here from that week is from 21 Apr. Surely Cotler, himself a former longstanding MP in a Westminster system, would have bothered with this simple fact check, if he had any good-faith intentions: https://votes.parliament.uk/Votes/Commons?SearchText=&FromDate=19%2F04%2F2021&ToDate=23%2F04%2F2021

The "~80% net IUD insertions" is a seriously tired trope that has no numerical or
    physiological meaning: https://twitter.com/abovetheclouds/status/1373319168842469377

And even a well-known blogger in the China twitter space, not sympathetic to the PRC government, has comprehensively refuted the boarish "genocide" label from a legalistic perspective: https://wokeglobaltimes.com/5b22ee3c12424ab9a398fdfeeee99019

Most of the evidence the authors cite are speculative or based on unverifiable media reports. To make the claim of genocide, much stronger evidence is needed. Media reports are typically unreliable because reporters have much lower standards than researchers when it comes to identifying facts and avoiding biases. The authors fail to mention that the fall of birth rate in Xinjiang started around 2017 because China started to implement birth-control measures that apply uniformly to all ethnic groups (two children per family), while previously, Han Chinese in the city could only have on child, Han Chinese in the rural area could have two, while ethnic minorities had a higher cap. The bigger drop in birth rate in Xinjiang compared to other ethnic groups is most likely the result of higher birth rate in Xinjiang before the new policy kicked in. The forced sterilizations is an abuse that previously affected mostly Han Chinese, although the scale varies from region to region. But nobody ever called it genocide. The narrative is getting ahead of the facts. The last time we saw something like this resulted in the Iraq war.

Mr Cotler says we should not be indifferent, but should put ourselves on the line. That we should remember(sati). Very well.

I don't know what goes on in China. But, I do know, that the hatred and accusations, coming out of the USA against China, reminds me of of the accusations made against the Jews, by the romantic patriotic nationalists of the 3rd Reich. From the Protocols of Zion to the Protocols of Wuhan Lab. From the Jews spreading pandemic to the Chinese spreading ... From the Jews taking control of the world's money to the Chinese are taking over... From Jews killing little Christian girls to drink their blood at Passover to China harvesting body parts...

While I was under the idealist's spell, I believed in the dualistic essentialism of democracratic institutions as against authoritarian ones.

Now, I cherish, tendencies and endeavours motivated by Open Society principles. Such as, humanitarianism as faith, self-determination through individualism/not the Collective, isonomy and rational critical thinking.

These principles are the relationship between an individual and their own self-awareness. Open Society attitude and disposition, has nothing to do with democracy or human rights, which is a totally different relationship being between the State and the individual. The nation-state understands the word 'humanity' to be synonomous with a mutitude of 'persons'. That is a very different concept of 'human' from the humanitarian faith of open society.

Why be pharisee like and see, only, the moat of genocide in the other's eye.
Blood & Soil with a doctrine of Racial noble Origin and Divine destiny + the moral burden 'to fix the world', were not the sole preserve of nazi Germany, but cultures that evolved out of the Protestant Reformation also had that unique, exceptional, chosen quality.

    To Remember. Not to forget.
The uncounted millions of sentient beings genocided in the Americas, Africa, Australia and how many Chinese were exterminated in the opium wars. Then the Japanese came in 1931. But none of this is considered. The centuries of genocides is whitewashed and forgotten. The genocide 'Holocaust' against the Jews is the preferred narrative. In Britain, the narrative of 700 years of interference, meddling and a potato famine in Ireland, is reduced to a few decades, called 'The Troubles'. China denies TankMan! Russia seeks to rehabilitate Stalin. Israel and the KSA, do their own thing too.

A major source of needless war/suffering is the current configuration of the nation-state. They're all at it. It being war. Most of it, needless. Your site, clearly identifies nation-states that, just happen, to be America's enemies. No wonder so many don't buy 'Human Rights' anymore. The US won't even allow
the ICC into America. They sanctioned it too. American mercenaries killed innocent people in Iraq etc and were pardoned. How is that different from Myanmar or a fence in Palestine?

Iran used to have a democracy, under Mossadegh in 1952. To this day, the people of Iran are in captivity to a theocracy. Back in 52, the British were promoting Islamists to destroy democracy. In what way do you Protect Democracy? Chile, Pres Allen..?

Using human rights as a stick to beat America's enemies, corrupts democracy
and human right's. Naturally, folk turn away.

What sentient beings need, is innovation in governance.

Both the Jews and the Chinese share the motto; Never Again.

Every assertion in this article has been debunked. But hey, whatever. White people beating war drums cannot be stopped.
