尽管油价飞涨、中东局势几近失控,但2006基本可以算平安渡过,没有出现大的经济灾难。但在即将过去的一年中,全球经济有很多教训需要汲取,并且对未来的经济发展也拉响了警报。

2006年再次有力地打击了原教旨主义新自由政策,只不过这次说不的是尼加拉瓜和厄瓜多尔的选民,这一点并不值得大惊小怪。与此同时,在临近的委内瑞拉,雨果·查维兹(Hugo Chavez)赢得了占压倒多数的选民:至少他改善了贫困地区教育和医疗状况,而这些贫困人口以前从委内瑞拉巨大的石油财富中得到的好处少得可怜。

也许对于世界来讲意义最为重大的莫过于美国选民对乔治·W·布什总统丧失了信心,布什总统现在不得不时时受到民主党议会的掣肘。
