欧元乐园困难重重

欧元区(eurozone)有时被美国人(以及一些亚洲人)称为“欧元乐园”(Euroland)。这个绰号大概脱胎于“迪斯尼乐园”(Disneyland)——一充满幻想的地方,明显带有揶揄的味道。

自欧元首次被提上日程以来,怀疑派(美国人为主)和力挺派(欧洲人为主)之间的激烈争论便从未停止。争论的内容包括单一货币的先决经济条件、对成员国的好处以及政治上的可行性。主张亚洲一体化的亚洲经济学家对此颇为诧异——双方的裂痕不在于经济理论的分歧,比如“凯恩斯学派”与“新古典派”之争或是“自由派”与“保守派”之争,而在于大西洋两岸的地理差别。
