言论之战


现今言论经常被看作是不稳定因素的来源。去年一份丹麦报纸上刊登的先知穆罕默德的漫画所引发的激烈反应令西方为之迷惑。各国政府都费尽口舌试图解释媒体以政治讽刺的名义应该做什么、不应该做什么。接着伊朗又主办了一次大屠杀否定者的国际会议,令西方更为窘迫。而这样的论调在绝大多数欧洲国家都会受到刑事处罚。

正如土耳其人都知道,在1915年的亚美尼亚种族大屠杀问题上表明立场是危险的。新近的诺贝尔文学奖得主Orhan Pamuk由于宣称亚美尼亚种族大屠杀确有其事以否定土耳其官方的历史陈述而在伊斯坦布尔遭到起诉。而其他的一些土耳其人则由于宣称大屠杀从未发生而在西欧面临起诉。

因此言论现在显然已成为伊斯兰和西方文化冲突中的一片战场。西方认识到,仅仅作为一种自我检查而不是法律许可,报纸和其它传媒通道就不会传播穆罕默德的重要图片,而教皇也不再会做出关于伊斯兰的关键评论。但这些体谅穆斯林敏感性的合作姿态并没有得到相应姿态的回报。

相反,伊朗总统艾哈迈德内贾德却威胁将以色列从地图上抹去。以色列外交部现在正寻求起诉艾哈迈德内贾德挑起种族屠杀—这一违反国际法的行为。
