“铃木”既是日本最常见的姓氏,也是印度最流行汽车的品牌。铃木占据着印度紧凑型轿车与中型车市场份额的55.6%,该国中产阶级(购车群体)在全国11.5亿人口中占到了两到三亿。

在过去很长一段时间内,印度人一直以黄包车或电动黄包车作为日常交通工具。其中,“黄包车”一词便源于日语词汇“人力车”,其字面含义为“由人力驱动的车辆”。如今,铃木在印度实际上成为了汽车的代名词,这一事实反映出了两国间的关系能够达到何其紧密的程度。
