经济“鸵鸟政策”

柏克利——今年冬天怪事不断,最为奇怪的事情莫过于是大批共和党人对奥巴马政府经济政策的抵制,难道为了控制失业率错了么?难道他们希望失业率业率高达10%甚至更高?如果是约翰·麦肯恩赢得去年11月份总统大选,他也会推出类似于奥巴马的财政赤字救援方案——恐怕会是更多的减税和更少的政府支出——那自然会在国会得以通过,得到共和党的一致支持。

早在2003年,当时格里高利·曼昆出任小布什总统的首席经济顾问,他就提到过经济刺激方案,这并不是什么高深的问题。“在经济衰退期间的政府的负债消费“,他说:“有利于维持商品及服务的持续需求,这并不是什么新鲜的事情。,而是非常传统的短期稳定市场的政策。你可以在任何经典教科书里找到。”

虽然我不同意,但我可以理解,反对经济救援计划的人认为目前的局势还没有那么紧急,政府的支出也是迟缓且过于浪费。(如果减税的目标群体明确,救援的效果就会明显)因此,杯葛奥巴马的救援计划,让它推迟几个月通过也不是什么错误的事情。
