德国社民党主席弗郎茨·穆特夫瑞面临本党左翼挑战而辞职,正如今年五月法国欧盟宪法全民公决的决定性结果一样所揭示的意识形态分歧并非仅仅有关欧洲信念,而是有关整个社会经济基础信念。潜伏在针对欧盟以及欧盟成员国政府的“社会福利不足”的评论背后的是对欧盟的印象,即欧盟是一个强使成员国顺从于致命的市场戒律、并剥夺国家领导人实现重要社会目标的能力的陷井。看起来,这一分歧不仅会决定德国的未来的联合政府,而且是真个欧洲的政治未来。
