抗议者们回到了各自的国家,受伤者们在舔自己的伤口,各国元首照例又主持国政,而会议举办地德国巴尔干海岸古老的温泉浴场海利根达姆则又回到了其帝国美景的梦想之中。德国总理默克尔获得了实质性的外交成功。她凭借魅力和谦虚的清醒头脑从八国集团中获得了妥协。这一妥协有可能将世界从全球气候变暖所造成的最为严重的灾害中解救出来。世界上最为富有的八个国家保证“认真考虑”在2050年以前将它们的二氧化碳排放减少一半。
