欧元诞辰十周年记

帕洛阿尔托——2009年伊始将作为可怕经济消息和争议经济政策的代表在几乎所有的国家被永远铭记。2009年也迎来了欧元诞辰的十周年纪念日,这一共同货币将数亿欧洲人的经济和金融事务更紧密的联系在一起。我们应该停下来纪念这一伟大的事件,同时评估欧元在当前全球危机中所起的作用问题。

由于一系列复杂经济、金融、政治和历史因素的共同作用,欧元于1999年1月正式付诸实施。欧元是二战后许多领袖蛋糕计划上最后的糖霜,其诞生受到发端于欧洲并消耗这块大陆达半个世纪之久的两场恐怖大战的驱使,其目的是建立更为密切的经济和政治联系。
