马德里—动荡仍在中东蔓延,埃及军事政变只是触发全地区政治地震的最新事件。埃及有8500万人口,又位于战略要冲,乃是地中海南岸最重要的国家。让埃及始于2011年的民主化过程继续下去是个紧迫任务。

穆尔西领导下的穆斯林兄弟会的伊斯兰教政府已经表明,它无能也无力确保包容的民主转型。但埃及军队给出的解决方案也与理想状态相去甚远。政变总是会恶化而不是解决问题,埃及也不例外。

第一个后果是埃及社会在政治合法性的问题上分歧愈加严重了。穆尔西的支持者认为穆尔西从一年前的民主选举中获胜,因此拥有合法性,而军队的政变以及拘禁下台总统是不合法的,他的反对者则指出全国人民都在游行反对穆尔西,推翻他也具有合法性。
