多元文化主义的两难困境

突然间,许多人在使用“多元文化社会”这个术语时候变得犹豫不决。抑或,他们不愿意持着赞成态度将这个术语作为一个形容社会实体所至少应该达到的理想模式的词来使用。

坐在,或更确切地说是站在“试管”(正如人们对伦敦地铁的爱称)中,人们不绝惊讶于犹太母亲与穆斯林男人、西印第安年轻人和南亚商人、以及许多其他同样忍受着紧张局势的人们之间的和平相处,他们彼此以礼相待以缓解紧张局势所带来的影响。恐怖袭击不仅使人们看到特定人群间如何相互帮助,也揭示出包含各人种成份的整个城市如何表现出共同的乐观精神风貌。
