法美关系即将面临好转

随着美国于2003年入侵伊拉克,法美关系跌入了低谷。布什政府感觉被法国在联合国的外交手段背叛了,而法国总统希拉克则更坚定了他对单一超级大国的不信任,并且呼吁建立一个多极世界。今天,把法国总统选举前夕,民意调查显示有四分之三的法国选民认为法国与美国应当保持距离。

尽管两国自美国独立战争时期起就保持了合作,包括在两次世界大战期间,但是法国对于美国一直怀有一种矛盾心理,而伊拉克战争并不是第一次出现一项有争议的安全策略削弱了美国对法国的吸引力。民意调查显示在1956年的苏伊士运河危机、60年代末至70年代初的越南战争以及80年代初在欧洲部署中程导弹后法国民众都出现了同样的反应。

此外,法国长期存在着一种文化上的反美主义。一些保守派不喜欢生硬地强调平等主义的美国文化,而另一些左翼人士则把美国人对市场经济的迷信看作资本家剥削工人阶级的象征。二战以后,法国曾禁止过可口可乐,而最近,农场主波韦因为砸了一家麦当劳店而成了民间英雄。但是法国人依然涌向麦当劳以及去电影院观看美国电影,尽管它们的进口被受到限制。
