恐怖与自由

与基地组织有关的恐怖主义在很多方面非常特殊。它在全球范围内泛滥,掌握先进的技术手段,但最重要的是,它并非为了可以实现了政治目标。

基地组织并非是为筹建统一的(天主教)爱尔兰,也不为建设独立的巴斯克或巴勒斯坦,而是代表了一种特殊的世界观及其持有者。它针对的是以前所谓的"西方社会",换言之就是开放秩序和自由世界。由于美国是自由世界最显而易见的强大代表,基地组织就极力针对美国,及其在欧洲和其它地区的亲密盟友。

这是需要铭记的关键因素。我们谈论的基地组织实质是反动、极具破坏性的恐怖运动。除了暗示现代化既不必要也不可取之外,它认为现代社会再也没有什么值得一提。
