新德里 —— 科学家通过研究揭示了全球气候变化的严重性,如今,他们却成了街头小报上的笑柄。先是英国东安格利亚大学气候研究所爆出电子邮件外泄(实际上是被黑客窃取)丑闻;后又出来一条想当然的新闻,说喜马拉雅山冰川并不像科学家描述的那样正在退化,因而不会在 2035 年之前融化殆尽。

第一个故事发生的时机恰逢哥本哈根《联合国气候变化框架公约》第 15 次缔约方会议召开前夕。第二个故事则似乎是冲着《京都议定书》续约问题而来,试图扼杀续约的一切希望。两弹连发,大做文章,闹得舆论哗然;应对全球变暖运动的科学依据遭遇公信力重创,至少短时间内元气大伤。

这些口诛笔伐尤其针对设立了气候变化科研标准的联合国实体 —— 政府间气候变化专门委员会( IPCC ),它们本身的可信度又有多高呢?有两件事颇耐人寻味:气候变化怀疑论者一方面利用印度政府的最新研究数据攻击 IPCC 报告以及报告所援引的科学家哈斯南( Syed Iqbal Hasnain )的学术清誉,另一方面却对那些数据断章取义。他们指控 IPCC 主席、诺贝尔和平奖得主帕乔里( R. K. Pachauri )的科学研究掺杂着金钱动机,试图搞臭这位应对全球变暖运动的标志性人物,与此同时也不忘弹冠相庆一番。
