马德里—距离大马士革首次爆发起义、叙利亚内战开始已经过去了四年。放眼整个叙利亚,已有240,000多人丧生。另有750万人流离失所或逃至别国,沦为难民。叙利亚正在血腥、野蛮、毫无意义的冲突中挣扎。我们应该大声说出“够了”——从被摧毁的阿勒颇市开始。

让战斗停止绝非易事。这需要地区和全球对手之间的协调与合作。但促成停火的可能不仅是结束人道主义灾难的机会;也是解决和防止其他地区爆发危机的新方针的开始。

阿勒颇是全世界最早有人定居的城市之一——也是叙利亚内战中最血腥的战场之一。这一古老的有墙之城是叙利亚六座联合国教科文组织世界遗产之一。城中很大一部分已遭到不可逆转的损坏。如今,阿勒颇由叛军控制并被叙利亚军方包围。忠于伊斯兰国的军队正在数十公里外虎视眈眈。
