新德里——好莱坞一年一度的成功电影庆典(奥斯卡颁奖仪式)上通常都不会有值得印度人期待的东西。过去50年来只有两部印度电影获得过最佳外语片奖的提名,但却都与获奖失之交臂。

因此印度人就转而从有关印度的“主流”电影获奖中寻找乐趣——比如1983年理查德·阿藤伯勒获七项奥斯卡奖的影片《甘地》,还有印度裔费城人奈特·沙马兰编剧并执导的《灵异第六感》的成功故事。

今年,印度的注意力被本季杀出的黑马 《贫民窟狗的百万富翁》 所牢牢吸引——这部以印度为背景、描写印度人物、启用印度裔演员、诠释印度主题的电影——获得了十项奥斯卡奖提名。事实上,有史以来第一次,印度公民能够有幸参与两尊金像的角逐——它们是最佳电影歌曲和A·R·罗曼的最佳电影配乐两个奖项。
