印度的资产阶级革命

新德里——2009年我参与上届议会选举时,像我这样的情况还实属罕见。我不是一位专业政治家。相反,我所在选区的所有其他候选人——其实可以说全国各地绝大多数竞争者——全都终生投身政治,很多人从学生时代起就已经步入政坛。

我并非出身于政治世家;也没有席位或政治封地可以继承;我参选时也没有政治“教父”的庇护。我甚至数十年生活在国外,成年后就一直就职于联合国。但我设法从反对党印度共产党手中夺取了一个席位,该党曾以100,000票的巨大优势赢得了我所在选区的前两次选举。

这场胜利意味着在戒备森严的印度政治壁垒上凿开了一条小小的裂缝,印度政治一向是一小撮继承人的保留节目。唯一的例外是电影明星,他们的号召力来自他们的名气,而非政治血统。在其他领域有所建树的专业人士根本不可能在政界立足。
