不可抵抗的人民币崛起

首尔—今年年底,国际货币基金组织(IMF)将决定是否将人民币与欧元、日元、英镑和美元一起纳入决定其国际储备资产——特别提款权(SDR)价值的货币篮子。中国在努力推进让人民币进入这一货币篮子。人民币应该得到承认吗?

1969年,IMF创造了SDR以补充已有的储备货币,从而为全球金融体系增加流动性。目前,SDR的作用主要仍局限于IMF的操作;其占全球金融市场和央行国际储备的比重可以忽略不计。尽管如此,将人民币加入SDR货币篮子具有重要的象征意义,意味着承认中国全球地位的提高。人民币已是世界贸易和投资的主要货币,在国际金融交易和储备持有量中的比例越来越高。

为了被纳入SDR货币篮子,中国政府放松了资本管制,金融市场自由度大大增加。进入SDR货币篮子需要更进一步,而这,加上人民币成为可投资的全球货币,将让整个世界经济获益。
