冲绳何去何从?

发自大阪——人们普遍认为日美联盟是对中国霸权野心——也是亚洲安全重大威胁——的关键制衡。但尽管美日两国在东海进行联合海军演习来向中国传达应当缓和对有争议的尖阁列岛(或尖阁列岛)行动的信号,但联盟内部却称不上和谐。

关于美国海军陆战队往冲绳县普天间空军基地部署12架V-22鱼鹰式倾转旋翼飞机的争议加剧了该联盟的衰败。这种混合式飞机结合了直升机的垂直起降能力以及涡轮螺旋桨飞机的航程、运载量、燃油效率及速度,被用来协助阻止中国或朝鲜可能对该地区发起的进攻。

然而出于对安全的担忧,这些计划加剧了在冲绳持续了几十年的反美抗议。的确,自2007年以来飞机出事故的记录包括了6起死亡事故及今年的2场坠机事件。考虑到普天间位于人口稠密的市区——该地区有100多个学校、医院和商店,批评家们断言“鱼鹰”计划会危及到岛上成千上万居民的生命。
