对于阿富汗的战争,通过军事方法是无法解决的,只能是通过政治方法。写下这段话的时候,我觉得无聊之极。当美国总统奥巴马在考虑下一步的行动之时,谁又再重复一个已经被重复过一千次的问题呢?究竟有谁不知道,要想在游击战中获胜,唯一的方法是赢得当地民众的“心”?美国公众应该在越战的失利中就知道这个道理了。

美国人常常认为,从越战中的痛苦经历中,他们已经得到了一些警示性的原则。但近期解密历史性档案又告诉我们一些更为奇怪的事情。实际上在越战之前,我们就已经知晓了绝大多数的教训。
