奥巴马和伊朗

    纽约--今年早些时候我同一名伊朗外交官在德黑兰进行过一次交谈。他提醒我说霍梅尼喜欢把美伊关系比成狼和羊的关系。但是他接着又指出了他自己的不同意见。他说:“时间已经过了将近三十年,我们已经不再是一只绵羊,而美国也已经不再是以前的豺狼了”。他的观点就是,伊朗与美国相比不再像以前过去那样感觉深深的不平等,而且现在应该接触了。

    在过去三十年时间里,五位美国总统力图寻求处理伊朗问题的途经。他们全部失败了。当美国当选总统奥巴马和他的顾问们评估其外交政策重点之际,他们将会马上遇到处理伊朗核子计划问题以及该国在中东以及南亚地区日益增长的战略重要性的挑战。

    他们将会很快地面对这样一个现实,那就是,为了寻求美国在该地区的利益、包括稳定伊拉克和阿富汗局势,目前与伊朗的对峙局面无法维系,而且更大程度上的合作无法回避。如果他们不想重复以前美国政府的失败,他们就非常应该做那些奥巴马的前任们所没有尝试过的东西。
