阿拉伯经济革命的契机

发自贝鲁特——席卷整个阿拉伯世界的革命浪潮已经把该地区的民众和政府推向了急需改革的风口浪尖。多年以来的保守僵化如今让位于一股近乎疯狂的改革动力,以满足数百万民众的意愿并平息他们的不满。

但这股改革的势头却被两股背道而驰的力量撕扯着,一股力量要求政府为人民包办一切;另一股则要求政府停止限制人民的自由,尤其是经济方面的自主权。而前者只会令阿拉伯世界当前的危机进一步恶化;后者却能为积极而持续的改革带来希望的曙光。

在以沙特为代表的几个阿拉伯国家,统治者们试图用提供一揽子现金、补贴、工作,免费商品和服务的方式来消解人民的不满。这种慷慨之举暴露出这些统治者其实误判了当今这场动乱的成因,因为他们以为这些都是由物质上的因素所引起的。
